Strain Name: Cali Orange (sometimes called Cali-O, Cali Orange bud or C.O.B. )
Type: Hybrid
Grade: AAAA
Nose:  AAAA – Great orange zest smell, sweet, citrusy
Taste:  AAAA – sweet but muted citrus taste
Burn:  AAAA – smooth burning with a clean Ash. Appears to be well-flushed.
Visual: AAA – small to medium-small buds with a nice trim. Stem snaps, product is dried properly. Orange hairs twirling in green buds.

Info: This old school classic dates back to around 1980. Because of this, there’s a lot of mystery surrounding it. What we do know is that it’s a well balanced hybrid – 50% sativa/50% indica. Relatively easy to grow, Cali Orange gives off an aroma that is both sweet and citrusy; a very pleasant smell! The high is typically clear-headed. However, at higher doses, the stone is usually more of an indica body high. This strain often helps with:

  • stress
  • depression
  • anxiety

Activated vs non-activated: activated cannabinoids are non-acidic (neutral) and are the form utilized by the human brain/ body. Activation occurs via heating (smoking, vaporizing, cooking). Cannabinoids in the natural plant are acidic (non-activated) and need to be converted to their neutral form in order to be utilized by the human body. Therefore one would expect fresh cannabis buds to contain mainly non-activated cannabinoids. Processed materials (baked goods, heated extracts) should be higher in the activated forms.
