Info: Sour Diesel Sativa is an energizing sativa named for its strong diesel smell. The intense high is excellent for combating stress, pain and depression. The effects are also quite long lasting making it a popular strain among medical patients.

Sour Diesel is a strain of cannabis known for its distinct, sharp smell and the quick onset of its effects. Sour Diesel is a sativa and as such it delivers a high that is energizing and cerebral making it great for relieving stress, anxiety, and depression. Sour Diesel has long been well-known and sought after; however, its exact lineage is unknown. It is believed to have originated in the early 90s as a phenotype of Chemdawg.

Sour Diesel is a cannabis strain that can have a thc content of up to 30% but usually averages about 23%. Often referred to as simply Sour D, it is a fast acting strain and can be an instant mood elevator. This strain brings a high that is more mental than physical and can leave the user feeling relaxed and euphoric which makes it good for relieving stress and anxiety. The mental quality of this strain lends itself well to creative inspiration and may even produce aphrodisiac qualities in some users but for the inexperienced consumer could prove to be overwhelming. Although Sour Diesel is a sativa strain, it can produce indica-like effects in some users. Users with a lower tolerance to THC should monitor intake so as not to experience negative effects such as paranoia or heightened anxiety. Generally the high from Sour Diesel will last around 2-3 hours.

When smoked, this strain produces a skunky and sour taste with hints of pine and orange. The smoke tends to be harsh and can cause a cough or scratchy throat. The buds of this strain are dense and sticky with red hairs. When squeezed or broken open they release an overpowering smell that is easily identified and hard to hide. Discreet smokers should be warned.

Cultivation of this strain can be done from seed or clone. Sour Diesel is a weed strain that does well as an indoor or outdoor plant, requiring semi-humid conditions and temperatures in the 70s. The plants appear tall and spindly with large spaces between the flower nodes. Requiring about 10 weeks from seed to flower, it has a moderately high yield, between 1-2 ounces per square foot of plant.
